These mini coastal clay houses are placed inside a fishbowl filled with sand and seashells to create an idyllic beachy environment right inside your own home!

What We Love about this Project
Now that summer has officially arrived, these mini coastal clay houses displayed within a glass bowl make a fantastic addition to our beach-themed crafts and terrariums collection.

Aren’t these coastal-themed houses adorable?! There are so many creative uses for them in your home! From placing them inside a shadowbox with sand and shells (similar to how we set up our Christmas village shadowbox!) or on their own on a bookshelf to showing them off at flowerpots or fairy gardens!

Craft supplies you’ll need
All the paint colors used in this craft are DecoArt Americana(r) Acrylics. With such a diverse palette of hues available, feel free to mix and match colors as desired! They work great across many surfaces! We recommend these paints!

Expert Crafting Tips
Extending the length of your clay houses will allow them to stay securely in place in the sand longer.
Create your own masterpiece! Experiment with different color combinations or combine two hues when crafting clay palm trees like those shown above, such as wrapping leaves around a Styrofoam ball to make them. Be sure to create a base as well, which can then be painted. Plus you could make beach balls or umbrellas!

These clay houses would make adorable displays for Halloween or Christmas if painted to fit. Create several in a batch so you can paint and display however you like!

Over time, I’m sure you have noticed my passion for DecoArt products – particularly their paints! Check out DecoArt’s library of free projects here.
