Vacation Photo Jar
My kids always look so happy and free at the beach – it really captures what summer should be all about! Instead of using traditional frames with cottage style frames to display these photos, jars would make an excellent alternative display method.
My youngest two kids are great pals and this picture of the older helping the smaller was taken several years ago. To remember it and use our Cricut Maker to make a fun vinyl decal. I wanted a display way for it as well! So this photo jar came to mind.
Preparing the Jar
First, thoroughly wash out and remove labels from your jar using warm soapy water; otherwise use Goo-Gone as needed for removal. Set this jar aside for later use.
With the Cricut Maker, Silhouette or other precision cutting machine you can create an adorable vinyl decal to stick on to a mason jar like ours.
Start by opening up Design Space and uploading the “All You Need Is Love and the Beach” project template. To find it quickly on Design Space you may have to search its name. Alternatively, any quote or beach related template would work too!
After following the instructions on-screen, click “Customize” to adjust the size of your phrase so it fits on a mason jar. Its original pattern measures 10.6′ wide by 6.9′ high – too large for this project!
Now you have an elegant and inventive way of remembering summer vacation memories! I plan on making several more to create a small photo vignette of summer travels.
